Protector: Missions
Therese Martin was born at Alencon, France, in 1873.
From an early age she decided to dedicated herself fully to
God and at sixteen entered th Carmelite convent of
Lisieux, where two of her sisters already lived. On the
directions of her superior, she began writing a diary of her
childhood, which became The Story of a Soul and reflects
a spirituality characterized by simplicity and faith in the love
and mercy of God. She fell ill in 1895 and died two years
later.
